Feature story: The Fast 50 journey has begun!
It’s that time of the year again! Entries for the 2017 Fast 50 are open and we’re on the hunt for the country’s fastest growing businesses.
The straight-forward entry process only takes 10 to 15 minutes but the rewards from making the index are huge. Whether your company is a new pioneer, a fast-tracking adventurer or a seasoned explorer, enter today at fast50.co.nz
We’ve added a new award - Master of Growth
Yes that’s right – alongside the Fast 50 index and the Rising Star award, we’ve added this new award to put the spotlight on established SMEs with sustained growth.
The Master of Growth award is designed to recognise established businesses achieving longer term, sustained growth. The winner will be determined by revenue percentage growth, just like the Fast 50 index.
”We recognise that business success can come in many guises. While traditionally, the Fast 50 has focused on those businesses that grow rapidly over a short period of time, we realise companies achieving lower growth rates over longer periods of time are successful in their own right. So this year we’ve added the new Master of Growth award to the Fast 50 programme,” says Deloitte Private Partner and Fast 50 lead, Bill Hale.
To enter this award, you need to have had a minimum revenue of $5M in FY13 and a full set of verified accounts for both FY13 and FY17.
Why enter the Fast 50?
Bill says the Fast 50 is more than just another business awards programme.
“The Deloitte Fast 50 is an active community of intrepid Kiwi trailblazers looking to achieve great things for their companies.”
Now in our 17th year, the Fast 50 can offer your company considerable local and national media coverage, profile within the business community (including potential investors) and a huge boost to company morale.
Take MajorDomo for example who entered the Deloitte Fast 50 in 2016, aged three.
They won a regional award in the Fastest Growing Technology Company category for Otago and the lower South Island, and took out 13th place in the overall index.
Co-founder, Lisa Hayden says, “The awards reinforced our credibility with our existing clients, gave our prospective clients a degree of comfort that we are the ‘real deal’ and provided an opportunity to celebrate success with our awesome team.”
She also cited the Festival of Fast Growth as the highlight where they met, collaborated and were mentored while developing lasting working relationships with other fast growing companies, experts and Fast 50 alumni.
Lisa adds, “We took away a fresh approach, new questions and new challenges. Entering was easy and we had a blast!”
